Job & career

Fluid Mechanics Engineer – Build serious CFD skills faster

If you are strong in fluid mechanics, numerical methods, and programming, and you want a steep learning curve, Aerotak may be the right place to start or accelerate your career.

We are looking for Fluid Mechanics Engineers to join our Process and Life Science teams. The role is for newly graduated MSc engineers, candidates with up to three years of experience, and relevant PhD profiles.

At Aerotak, you will work on advanced CFD projects where simulation quality matters: spray dryers, cleanrooms, GxP warehouses, cyclones, CIP systems, process equipment, and other technically demanding applications. You will also get close to the physical reality behind the models: we frequently visit customer sites, see the equipment, and participate in physical measurements.

Why choose Aerotak?

Aerotak is a specialist company built around fluid mechanics and CFD. You will be part of a small, high-performing team where technical skill, customer value, and speed matter.

  • You learn from specialists: Work every day with experienced CFD engineers and technical leaders.
  • You move faster: Less bureaucracy, shorter path from idea to action, and more direct responsibility.
  • You get close to real engineering: Join customer discussions, visit sites, and connect simulations to physical measurements.
  • You use modern tools: We are actively integrating AI, automation, and new technology into our workflows.
  • You grow with us: Aerotak is growing fast and recently received its second Børsen Gazelle prize.
  • You are visible: Founders, section heads, and the Managing Director are close to the work. Strong performance is noticed and rewarded.
  • You join a young, ambitious team: Expect high standards, low ego, and a culture where a serious technical discussion can be followed by a very unserious Friday bar.

What you will become good at

After one to two years, the ambition is that you will be much stronger at:

  • Applied CFD for real industrial problems, not only academic cases.
  • Making sound modelling choices under real project constraints.
  • Identifying the few details that matter most for the result.
  • Connecting simulations to equipment, measurements, and physical observations.
  • Explaining complex simulation results clearly to engineers, managers, and customers.
  • Using programming, AI, and automation to work faster and better.

What you will work on

You will help set up, run, analyse, and communicate CFD simulations for clients in Process, Life Science, and adjacent industries. Your work may include complex flows, heat transfer, mixing, ventilation, drying, particle behaviour, energy optimization, process performance, commissioning risk, and product quality.

We value engineering judgment more than checklist thinking, real-world validation more than simulation for its own sake, and speed and ownership more than heavy process.

What we are looking for

We care most about brain power, attitude, technical foundation, and learning speed. You should have:

  • A strong degree in mechanical, chemical, bio-, aerospace engineering, physics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of fluid mechanics, numerical methods, and CFD.
  • Programming experience, for example Python, MATLAB, or similar.
  • Strong analytical ability, especially the judgment to identify which details actually matter.
  • Curiosity, drive, and willingness to learn from demanding technical problems.
  • Clear communication in English.
  • Legal right to work in Denmark.

Nice-to-haves: STAR-CCM+, ANSYS Fluent, OpenFOAM, process equipment, life science facilities, GxP environments, measurements, industrial R&D, Danish language skills, or already living in Denmark.

You do not need to match every nice-to-have. What matters is that you can show evidence of exceptional performance and the ability to learn fast.
